What are total carbs and net carbs?and what to follow in uk ?

There are different ways to count carbs in the USA & UK. In the USA, they work on net carbs, which is a famous method of calculating carbs in the keto diet. What they do is to minus fibre from the total carbs of a product to get net carbs. The formula that works there is Total Carbs – Fibre = Net Carbs.

But it’s different in Europe and UK. Here they have already minus fibre from the carbs in all products. So you didn’t need to minus it again, which means the total carbs written on a product in the UK are exactly the carbs that the product has, and there is no net carb concept here. UK works on only Total carbs. So being in the UK, if you have been calculating net carbs with the US formula, then, unfortunately, you have been doing wrong. Our Macros are updated to show the total carbs of products in the UK way.
